We become what we behold. We shape our tools, and thereafter our tools shape us.

About
I fell in love with color books, then watercolors and then, I went to visit my cousin who was studying graphic design at Parsons. Lightbulb!
It wasn't an easy path and I eventually made it to The University of the Arts in Philadelphia where I majored in Photography. I fell in love with Minor White, Alfred Stieglitz, Atget, Edward Weston and others. I also learned a lot about film; classes I appreciate more now as I learn more about motion graphics.
Journeys
From a fine art photography focus to the world of newspapers and magazines to the interactive space and entrepreneurship, my journey has been deliciously circuitous and varied.
Cococello and Coco Paperie (a nice little gift on the side) is the result of taking the fork in the road.
A present, I teach full-time at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Syracuse University. It's a wonderful thing because I'm constantly in motion — typography, tablet design, web design, motion graphics and even a business course for creatives. My students teach me so much, especially the care and feeding of others.
The beauty of being a designer?
Everyday is an opportunity to figure out a solution. Everyday is a giant sandbox to play, to stretch, to be creative. It really is a great time to be a designer.
